about
Duly named, Most Jeffinitely's debut EP shows a blissful uncertainty amongst its elements that comes together to make perfect sense. A skewed vision of whats to come in the future, the work is gratifying in that it leaves the tale open ended and ready for any possibilities.
There is a clear influence from dance floor antics and deep house music styles, but the work cannot be contained into the defining rules of genres. "Drunk Animals", and "C-Tru" definitely display the ability to make electricity tell the story, while the title track is more about a push/pull feeling within the beat and relating that intangible feeling with the message of the song. "Regard" shows a regress into the world of rock n roll, with a rhetorical question being the point of realization. Every noise works together to bring a complete vision with every song; a journey that travels deep but leaves you with feelings of peace.
Lyrical elements are displayed in an unconventional sense as they are treated just as other electronic noises within the music and work to bring the carefully directed energy into a resolve and purpose. A strong sense of minimalism cuts through even the sometimes complex and strange noise structures, focusing on carefully designing components of the music to leave a strong force within the basics that can be sometimes overlooked and cliche in electronic music. Strong dynamics, powerful kick drums, and organic synth lines can all describe the physical sound of the EP and help elevate it into a style that is completely unique, and inherently never perfect.
Overall, a very powerful debut EP that shows definite promise for the future.
